My Dad is my real life hero. He is a genuine role model and an exemplary citizen. I’ve never seen my dad take a drink of alcohol or smoke a cigarette. Do you want to know why? When he was a high school football coach he made a decision ….if he was going to ask his athletes not to drink or smoke then he wasn’t going to either …. and 30 years post coaching, he still doesn’t. He leads by example.

The Most Beautiful Princess in the World PDF Print E-mail

This story starts with a crown and a mirror.....

You see, I’m a dad of two children- a pretty darn proud dad. My daughter is the oldest and she turned 3 in January.   She has a character trait that I value, and it’s confidence. At least once a day, and sometimes several times a day, my daughter proudly climbs her step-stool in the bathroom, adjusts her crown on top of her head, pulls her shoulders back, looks in the mirror and proclaims “I’m the most beautiful princess in the world.” No hesitation, not in an arrogant manner, just confident.

Tip #1- Say Cheese!

Take a mental photograph of a personal accomplishment. How did you look, how did you feel? Did you celebrate with a fist-pump? Save that mental photo. When you need a boost in confidence, refer to that picture to light your fire.

I’ll admit it, I am/was a huge fan of Lance Armstrong. His story is simply amazing and awe-inspiring. Seven time champion of the most physically demanding event, the Tour De France. No one in the history of sport has achieved the same level of success, period.

But wait, there’s more! In addition to his elite athletic status, he has also been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has literally been on his death-bed. Literally. In miraculous and unparalleled fashion, Lance was able to beat the odds of cancer and return to his sport. It wasn’t until after his battle with cancer that he then set the record of 7 consecutive Tour win’s record. Amazing. I often wondered why he didn’t wear a red cape as Super Man did. In addition to his superior athletic feat, Lance is also credited with found a cancer research foundation ranked in the top 10 funded cancer research centers in the US rising over $325 million.

It's World Series time, it's professional baseball's biggest spotlight.  The next time you watch a baseball game, notice how the pitcher stares at the catcher before throwing the ball. The pitchers uses concentration to improve performance, or to do exactly what is needed to perform best.  Despite several controversial umpire calls, N.Y. Yankee's pitcher, C.C. Sabathia displayed intentional concentration leading his team to victory in the game last night. Leaders intentionally concentrate on every thought and motion with an intensity that they can not be distracted into making mistakes.
